All students and parents will report to the Morning Assembly area at 8:00 a.m., promptly for a brief Welcoming Assembly.  Students are to report to their new teacher/classroom prior to the Assembly. You have previously received your child’s room assignment and classroom teacher letter.  All teachers will have an Identification Poster to assist in locating your new teacher/classroom.  We will also have staff available to assist you beginning at 7:30 a.m. to answer your questions and to guide you to the Assembly Area as necessary.  In addition, on Monday, September 07, 2011, classroom lists will be posted for your convenience on the fence along Short Avenue.

Important Parking Information PDF Print E-mail

Please follow all posted TRAFFIC GUIDELINES  because SCHOOL/LAPD Traffic Enforcement personnel will be on duty.  Please be considerate of our neighbors.

The Parking Lot is for staff and District personnel cars only.  Students are to walk on the sidewalks only and not through the parking lot.  Students are not to be dropped-off or picked-up at dismissal in the  Staff Parking Lot.

Do not enter the Parking Lot to turn around.  This creates a hazard for staff members who are trying to enter or exit the Parking Lot.

Closed Campus Policy/Safety PDF Print E-mail

Please be advised that Short Avenue Elementary maintains a closed campus policy to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for our children. To achieve this goal we will close and lock the gates at 8:30 a.m. each morning.  Entry to the school will be through the Main Office, and all visitors must sign-in and wear a visitor’s pass during school hours.  We appreciate your cooperation so that we may continue to provide a “Safe School” for all students. Thank you.
